Adding or Claiming and Apple Maps Business Listing

Did you know you could add or claim a business listing on Apple Maps? It is important to claim your business so that you can keep your information up to date for your customers. Apple Maps may not be as popular as Google Maps, however, Apple Maps is still widely used.

How to Claim Your Business Listing…

In order to claim your listing on Apple Maps, you need to first have an Apple ID. You can create one by visiting https://appleid.apple.com/.

The next step is to visit https://register.apple.com/placesonmaps/. Type in the name of your business in the search bar and select your business. If you don’t see it, select ‘Add a missing place’ and fill in the required details. Verify Your Ownership  Once all the steps above are complete, you will need to review the details you have entered for your business and verify your ownership.

To verify your ownership you need to click on the ‘Verify Ownership’ button and proceed with the verification process. Once all of the required information is entered, you will be prompted to receive a call and enter the verification code given through the phone call from Apple.

If you are having issues with this process, you can also request manual verification by clicking the link below the verification code text. To complete manual verification, you must provide an official document that shows the address and the name of the business.

Keep in mind, manual verification can take up to 5 days.The verification process is in place to keep your business safe from being falsely claimed and misrepresented.

Adding a Member

If you have multiple users who need to access and manage your Apple Maps listing, you need to add them as a member. In order to do this you need to navigate to the home screen of Apple Business Register.

Once you are on the home screen, you should see a link named ‘Members’ under the your organization section. If you do not see the members section, click manage on the top right of the page and click ‘add’ next to the members option and finalize this selection by clicking ‘done’.

Once in the members sections, you need to add a member. Fill in the requested information, such as type of member, contact details, then assign a role and submit! The member will need to accept the invitation via email. You can resend this email anytime by clicking ‘Resend email’ at the top of the members page.

It is important to note the user must have an Apple ID prior to clicking the email link. If they do not have an Apple ID prior, they will not gain access to the account.
